Getting Ready for Summer

I’m sure you’ve been asking yourself lately, “What does Lodge at Lionshead do during the off season?” It’s pretty interesting stuff, after all. (Note underlying tone of sarcasm here – we haven’t completely lost our sense of humor!)

We’re still in the office and we do have a handful of reservations. We have two guests in house who are having surgeries/ physical therapy or post op follow ups at the world-renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic. Lodge at Lionshead is a very short block from the Vail Valley Medical Center and offers easy access for our guest-patients and a quiet place for them to recover. We also have guests come in specifically for the peace and quiet this time of year. It is definitely relaxing and a great time to take advantage of restaurant, spa and golf specials. One of our guests was up at 4am one morning this week to take photos of the new snow. While our staff is tiring of the normal spring snow showers, she thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world!

Lodge at Lionshead has a lot of projects taking place right now to get ready for summer and make everything fresh and pretty for our upcoming guests. For instance, we’re adding fresh coats of paint to our lobby and common areas, just had Steammaster in to clean all condo/ common area carpets, re-keyed our Phase III building, are taking care of maintenance issues and getting started on landscaping so that by the time our guests start arriving for summer the flowers are blooming and we have our park-like surroundings in top form.

Our office has upgraded its computer network and this week installed upgraded reservations software. Our reservations staff is getting ready to set rates for next winter, believe or not, and our concierge is busy updating all summer activity, event and restaurant information. Hers is the most fun job because we learn about all of the cool new stuff going on in the Vail Valley and that gets us really excited for summer. Concert line-ups, new kids camps, new Adventure Ridge activities…you name it and she can help you with it.

It might be a little boring and our days at the office seem a little longer, but we’re working hard behind the scenes at Lodge at Lionshead to make sure next time you are here you have the best stay we can give you.
