Bud Light Hot Summer Nights is a Vail summer institution. This free concert series has been around ever since I moved to the Valley in 1995 and is one of the most popular events throughout the summer. Each Tuesday night, locals and visitors alike flock to the stunning outdoor Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre for great music and some of the best people watching around.
The summer series kicks off this week with Soulive. Soulive has toured the world nine times, recorded with the likes of Dave Matthews and John Scofield and launched its own record label, Royal Family Records. Their sound moves seamlessly from jazz to hip hop, rock to soul and funk to blues all at one concert and they definitely deliver a rockin’ show!
Hot Summer Nights schedule for the rest of the summer is as follows:
June 22 | The Aggrolites (Dirty Reggae)
June 29 | The Killdares (Celtic Power Pop)
July 6 | Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights (Rock n’ Roll with touch of Blues & Soul)
July 13 | Hoots & Hellmouth (Alt-country, Rock & Gospel)
July 20 | Laura Reed & Deep Pocket (Funky, Progressive R & B)
August 10 | Break EFX (Hip Hop & Urban Dance in conjunction with International Dance Festival)
August 17 | Toad the Wet Sprocket (Soulful, Melodic Folk Rock)

You’ll find diehard fans up close in the covered seating, locals hanging out in the patio-bar area and a mix of everyone else on the lawn enjoying their picnics and cocktails. Shows are FREE and start at 6:30pm. Gates open at 5:30pm.
