Using the phrase “fun-filled” would be an understatement when referring to Labor Day Weekend in Vail. Fortunately, it is possible to hit all of the fantastic events, you just might be a little tired afterwards. Not to worry – that’s what the comfy beds and hot tubs at Lodge at Lionshead are for. The coffee will help get you going, too!
If you want to hit all of the events, here’s how to do it. Start with a nice stroll through (6) local galleries and jewelers on The Connoisseur’s Trail Friday night. Each stop includes apps and wine tasting. Saturday, make the trek over to Beaver Creek for their annual Oktoberfest celebration, but save some energy for Sunday – it’s gonna be a big day. Sunday morning, you could do the Edwards Rotary Club Ducky Dash 5K or 10K at 9am or sleep in a little and hit the Vail Farmers’ Market and Art Show which starts at 10am. When you are done shopping, you’re right there for Gourmet on Gore. Vail’s world-class restaurants will be serving up delicious small plates and there are fine wines, beers and spirit tastings available to wash it all down. That afternoon, you can try your luck at the Rotary Rubber Duck Race. If you have a lucky duck, you’ll could win anywhere from $1000 to $3000. Then, you can go back to Gourmet on Gore to celebrate! Monday, end your weekend with a trip to the Annual Vail Jazz Party as it finishes up for another year. You’ll still have a chance to hear some amazing performances at this internationally acclaimed event.
If you’re like me, you won’t want to do all of these things in just 3 days. The beauty of having choices is that you can pick a few and then get out and hike, ride your bike or just sit on a patio somewhere and relax. It’s gonna be a wonderful weekend in Vail!
