The Best Dinner Sleigh Rides in Vail, Colorado

Editor’s Note 2021: Please check with individual restaurants, businesses, and establishments for updated hours, policies, and safety protocols.

The Vail Valley is the epitome of a “winter wonderland” when the snow begins to fall. While skiing and snowboarding might be the main draw to the region, there are other exciting adventures that the whole family will enjoy. We recommend including one of the best dinner sleigh rides in Vail in your itinerary. Take in breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains and blankets of fresh, white snow while carried to your destination. Then, enjoy a delicious dinner.

1. 4 Eagle Ranch in Wolcott, CO

4 Eagle Ranch is the best choice for families or those looking for an authentic, western experience. Centered around the historic Nelson Cabin (ca. 1890), it is also the only proper horse-drawn sleigh ride of the two. Because 4 Eagle Ranch resides near Wolcott (about 20 miles west of Vail), it is far from any city lights and offers incredible star-gazing. When you’re not riding the sleigh, enjoy a Colorado-style buffet dinner as the resident cowboy singer serenades you or roast marshmallows around the open-hearth fire. Kids especially love the latter!

2. Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek, CO

Beano’s Cabin Dinner Adventure provides more of a five-star sleigh ride and dining experience. This sleigh is pulled by a different kind of “animal” – a Beaver Creek snowcat. That’s how you get to and from the restaurant located high on Beaver Creek Mountain. Once at the cabin, admire the elegant ambiance and multi-course dinner. Dinner is a leisurely, two-three hour affair, so settle in and enjoy! This adventure is a legendary, one-of-a-kind experience that you must try at least once in your travels to Vail. Beano’s Cabin has received the AAA Three Diamond Award, DiRōNA award, and Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
